Register today for AIMBE’s Federal Symposium, our yearly Capitol Hill Day, where we help connect Congress with you, their constituents. Attendees will advocate for medical and biological engineering (MBE), explaining how their personal research, work vocation, or education all contribute to our nation’s economy and our national health.
The Symposium will begin with an orientation dinner focused on AIMBE’s public policy initiatives and how to best approach members of Congress. Effective advocacy requires not only scientific knowledge but also dynamic communication and our congressional orientation will give you all the right tools to be heard on the Hill.
The next day will begin with a breakfast where we will give our Public Policy Awards to two policy makers, thanking them for being MBE allies.
The rest of the morning each attendee will actually meet with their congressional representatives to promote MBE research, translation, and manufacturing.
All research funding is under threat in today’s deficit-reducing government, and the only people who can convince Congress of its priority are the leaders in the MBE community—AIMBE Fellows, Members, and Partners.
We will conclude with our second 2012 Congressional Briefing, celebrating the NIBIB on their 10th anniversary and educating Congressional staff on the advancements made possible by the formation of NIBIB. briefing and a chance to compare our meetings and plan AIMBE’s future public policy goals.
Join AIMBE in the fight for MBE’s voice to be heard in our national’s capitol.
AIMBE encourages participation from all of its Fellows and partners, and interested parties with any questions should contact Sean Gallagher at sgallagher@aimbe.org
